This page consolidates the thread profile, head dimensions and tensile stress area data for Hiduron 130 and Hiduron 191 bolting in both metric and Unified Inch series. The thread standards are ISO 261 (metric coarse) and ISO 262 (metric fine) on the metric side, and ASME B1.1 (Unified UNC and UNF) on the imperial side. Head dimensions follow DIN 931 / ISO 4014 (hex head bolt, metric) and ASME B18.2.1 (heavy hex bolt, imperial). Hiduron stud bolts are typically threaded both ends to ASME B18.31.2 dimensions, with the body length sized to the flange stack-up. The stress-area data below is what the torque-chart page uses to convert preload target to torque value.

TorqBolt supplies Hiduron 130 (UNS C72400, DTD 900/4805) and Hiduron 191 (UNS C72420, NES 835, DEF STAN 02-835, DOD-C-24676) in round bar, stud bolts, hex bolts, heavy hex bolts, nuts, washers, forgings and machined components. Standard fastener lead time is 4 to 8 weeks from order, subsea machined components quote project-specific lead time. Send an enquiry through TorqBolt Contact with the controlling specification, the form factor, the size envelope and the certification level (3.1 default, 3.2 on call-out, NACE on call-out).

Metric Hiduron threads are produced to tolerance class 6g (external) and 6H (internal) as the standard medium-fit class for general engineering and bolting service. Tight-fit class 5g6g or fine-fit 4h on the external thread is available on call-out for instrument and precision-machined components. On the Unified inch side the standard class is Class 2A (external) and Class 2B (internal), the general-purpose class for hex and heavy-hex bolting on flange and structural applications. Class 3A and 3B (tight fit) are quoted on call-out for aerospace and high-vibration service. The thread profile geometry is identical to the standard reference; only the tolerance class shifts the allowance and the tolerance band on the pitch diameter.
| Style | End condition | Body | Typical Hiduron application |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type 1 | Threaded both ends, equal thread length | Full body unthreaded | Flange bolting, raised face |
| Type 2 | Threaded both ends, equal thread length | Threaded full length | Tapped-hole on one side |
| Continuous thread (rod) | Threaded full length | No unthreaded body | Cut-to-length threaded rod |
| Type 3 (compact head stud) | Unequal thread; longer one end | Body unthreaded | Submerged equipment hardpoint |
Q. What thread standards do Hiduron bolts follow?
Metric coarse threads to ISO 261 and metric fine threads to ISO 262. Unified inch threads to ASME B1.1 (UNC and UNF). The thread profile is identical to the standard reference; only the material chemistry and certification distinguish Hiduron product from generic carbon-steel or stainless-steel bolting at the same nominal dimension.
Q. What head standard do Hiduron hex bolts follow?
DIN 931 / ISO 4014 for metric hex bolts and ASME B18.2.1 for heavy hex bolts (imperial). The width across flats, width across corners and head height match the standard exactly.
Q. Can Hiduron be supplied to custom thread profiles and dimensions?
Yes. Custom thread profiles, head shapes and machined-component dimensions are quoted from project drawing. The lead time depends on the bar availability and the machining complexity.
Q. What is the standard stud bolt dimension reference?
ASME B18.31.2 for stud bolts threaded both ends. The body length is sized to the flange stack-up plus the projection allowance for the nuts.
